An intervention in collaboration with LESIVO, about the rural migration to the city of Bogotá. This current project is part of the exhibition La Revelación del Tiempo / Time will Reveal it all at the Museo de Arte de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá.
Hannah Collins and Diego Chavez (LESIVO) looked at features that appear on the streets of the city imported by rural migrants to their new urban homes - small planted gardens, birds that flock together, wooden doors that are part of the everyday vernacular and appear in the urban setting transplanted and out of place. Using as a base design the patterns of the metal grills which are brought from the country to the city to guard gates and doors a language emerged that allowed them to create four murals within the museum environment and on the exterior walls where grafitti is always present. The planned work was to go along the roads into the city but finally logistical problems meant that the work appeared in the institutional context allowing the viewer to connect these works with film works in La Revelación del Tiempo.
