They are made of the highest grade knitted cashmere and silk in Nepal by women working at the Karuna Social Project. The scarves are based on photographs taken in Nepal by Hannah and inspired by working with the women at the Centre. In one image a cloud of sequins has been worked over a photograph of the Annapurna mountain range printed onto silk and then backed onto knitted cashmere, on another shawl a photograph of a wall of ripped and worn posters on the way from Kathmandu to Bakthapur has been printed onto silk and the women at the centre have embroidered areas of the image with beads and thread. Each shawl has it's own envelope made using cloth woven by the women and hand stitched, lined with silk and signed by the woman who made it.
